That's some good perspective!

[Sooooooo a possible character design]

Depending on the color of that white bit inside the hood, it could either be a goofy grin or a shadowed mask. Additionally, the posture of the character can also tell you what kind of person they are. If he was hunched over more, he would look like a sneaky guy ready for action. The pose you have right now fits a young and excitable lad, but the pose seems a little off balance. I think it's either the postion of the head, or the hood's perspective being a little off.

Thank you so much for the comment! I'm not really good at posing and I tried to fix the balance issue but I couldn't without starting again so I kept it. I'm also glad that some of the posing worked since that is what he's supposed to be. I'm going to try and get better at posing and try and stop the leaning so hopefully I can draw him a bit better in the future. Thanks again for highlighting some of the things I need to work on so I can improve on them!

you call this not ambitious? With the level of quality this piece has, I'd like to see what you call ambitious! The values here are great, and I love how the red draws your eye to the samurai guy instead of the grim reaper hiding in the background. I barely even noticed that. Great Job!!!!

Thanks! It started as a speed painting of sort that I began to polish a bit and then all elements fell in place in a satisfying way. So all in all it was an unusually quick drawing for me.

very smug and wonderful, though i would try not to cut out the bottom of the foot there. you have plenty of space up top, you can move her towards the center
